Workers Compensation

Worker’s Compensation provides a means of compensation for workers injured as a result of an accident that occurs within the course and scope of employment.  It provides the workers weekly wage loss benefits for total and partial disability.  It also pays medical costs, death benefits, funeral costs and other costs associated with being injured while on the job.

The most common types of workplace accidents are slip-and-fall, electrocution, being struck by an object, and being caught in or between objects.  Also, additional common accidents at work are caused by repetitive motion, such as, lifting or holding heavy objects causing injuries to the back, arms or legs.  The most dangerous industry in the country is construction.
